Greetings & Welcome to our blog “Christ’s Daughters”! We are blessed that you choose to come and check us out as we talk about the good things and challenges we face being women of God; daughters of Christ! We give all thanks to God for placing this in our spirit. We pray you will be blessed from the postings and we hope that what you read here, you will take to your family, friends, coworkers, church members and many more people. Without further ado, let us introduce our self and our personal and unified goal of this blog.
So our blog is titled “Christ’s Daughters”! We struggled to decide on a cohesive name that will best describe us and the purpose of our blog. When we shared our introductions with one another, coincidently we both referred to our self as a daughter of Christ. In my spirit that just felt like the right name to title our blog for that in it is a blessing; and for those of you who are reading this and may not know- you are a child of God! Let this be your first reminder! John 1: 12 says, “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God”. J
So who are we?
My name is Nadirah but I go by Nadiva, Grand-mom, Dirah Do and many other interesting nicknames; To Christ, I am DAUGHTER J ! I hail from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! I grew up in North Philadelphia all of my life, so yes I am a product of the urban and/or “hood” upbringing. I’ve been attending the same church on and off (will discuss the inconsistency throughout my future posts) since I was a little girl! I like to believe I am a part of one of the greatest church families at The First Church of Love, Faith and Deliverance under Pastor Rosie Wallace! I was educated at Shippensburg University where I met one of my best friends ever and co-contributor to this blog, Nicole! Since my days on the college campus I have been working in various nonprofits and soon to be working on my Master of Science degree in nonprofit management. I look forward to sharing my trials, testimonies, hardships and frankly the fun I have being a Christian!
Hello! My name is Nicole; I am a daughter of the most high God & a firm believer in Christ. I was born & raised in Lancaster, PA and still currently reside here. Humorously enough, I grew up in the suburbs - opposite of Nadirah's neighborhood; which is why I think we mesh well. We bring different things to the table. I've been a member of Vineyard Heritage Center (YesArelaH Ministries, Inc) my entire life. My Grandmother is the head overseer of the ministry and my Aunt & Uncle are the Pastor's of our church. My church is literally my second home - when I'm not at home, I'm at church. As Nadirah mentioned, I too attended Shippensburg University where we met; and since then for the past 3.5 years, I have been working as an assistant teacher to a K4 Classroom. I am so looking forward to sharing my love for Christ with you all & sharing some of my experiences, pitfalls, triumphs, & testimonies which have gotten me to where I am at today.
Moreover, Nicole and I talk constantly! Our conversations run the gamete from daily occurrences to major life blows. She’s my best friend so you can image how much we talk and the things we discuss. During one of our conversations we were discussing how people think living a Christian life is boring. We were also conversing about how in the flesh it is challenging to “die so that Christ can live in you”. From that, rather interesting conversation, we decided to write a blog so that people can see that yes as Christians we have challenges and yes as Christians we have fun and yes as Christians we have the power to overcome and that we are more than conquers.
So we hope you enjoy and come back to check out our postings!
Be blessed,
Christ’s Daughters,
Nadirah & Nicole
